FAQ

What is your style?
While most of my photos enjoy the candid feel a photojournalistic approach takes, I also realize there is a time and place for a few posed images. I ask for 20-30 minutes of time with just the bride and groom to create some timeless images.  Look through my galleries to get a feel for what my work looks like.

Can we give you a shot list?
I prefer not to work from a shot list as it is not reflective of the work you have seen here. While lists from magazines and blogs are a great idea, I find that I normally capture all of those same moments without being prompted to. If there is something specific from your day you want me to capture that a stranger to your family wouldn’t necessarily recognize, I do want to know those things so I can capture it for you accurately.

Where do you live? Do you travel?
I live in Salisbury, Maryland. I travel both domestic and internationally for a reasonable travel fee. Some of my favorite places i’ve photographed destination weddings are in Aruba, Riviera Maya, St. Lucia, Cancun, Antigua and Ireland. Domestically I love photographing weddings throughout Maryland, Delaware, Jersey Shore, New York City, Upstate New York, Philadelphia, the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Do you come to the rehearsal?
I do not normally attend the rehearsal. Coverage can be added to your package if you want that part of your wedding covered.

How long does it take to get images back?
Engagement sessions take approximately 3 weeks after the shoot. Weddings take approximately 6 weeks. Albums take approximately 12 weeks after image selections are made.

How many pictures do we get?
The number of photographs depends on a variety of factors; the number of hours covered, number of guests, amount of details and things to photograph, speeches, dances, etc… On average I deliver between 75-100 +/- photos per hour contracted.

Do we get the disc of photos?
I transitioned to a digital delivery a few years ago so I don’t deliver physical disc’s anymore. Clients seem to enjoy having their photos available safe in the cloud for 10 years and able to download, email and share them online instantly from their desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, etc.. If you want a USB thumb drive of your images that can be arranged.

If you are booked for our wedding date, will you still take our engagement photos?
Absolutely, inquire within…

What kind of equipment do you use?
I shoot with the top of the line Nikon equipment. I always have multiple backups of equipment at each event. Interested in my gear? Check out the page for photographers.

What is your payment schedule?
25% of your package holds the date and is non-refundable with the balance due two weeks prior to the event.

Do you take table photos?
Not normally, I much rather prefer to shoot candid photos of your guests rather than tying up a lot of time going from table to table. I often find table photos are hard to take because people are at the bar, restroom, etc… If getting images of your guests are important, I would consider using my photo booth at your reception. It’s a great opportunity for them to have fun and take more photos of each other for you.

Do you have insurance?
Yes, I carry a 1 million dollar liability policy. Most venues I work at require this. Let me know if you need proof of insurance sent to your coordinator.

Do you have a second photographer?
Yes, I bring at least one other photographer if not two (for large events) to every wedding. Their job is to assist with capturing the day as a second photographer, assist in organizing large family and bridal party photos as well as assist with off-camera lighting during portraits.
